Superhuman Challenge Winner: Katie Noll

By: 0

You’d be surprised, but MOST of the time, the people that take on our “Superhuman Challenge” don’t look like they need it. Katie looked healthy by any measure, but now, she’s Superhuman. AND getting better every single day. She shows up at 5am, ready to work, ready to laugh, and always encouraging her fellow athletes. Her hard work ethic and great attitude made her an easy pick for one of our Superhuman Challenge winners!

I started CrossFit Palm Beach in July, 2016 and it was the best decision I could have ever made. I was always into athletics growing up and have always made exercising a top priority of mine. I use to think that CrossFit would make me “big and bulky” and I always thought I would get hurt doing it so I didn’t even think about doing it.

All I can say is boy was I wrong! I use to be the type to do hours of cardio a day with minimal weight lifting. I thought I ate healthy but in reality I was not getting nearly enough nutrients to properly fuel my body for workouts, recovery and everyday living.

Once I began CrossFit I realized I needed to stop worrying about what I looked like and what other people thought. I needed to focus on becoming a healthier and stronger version of me. I have learned so much from the coaches at CFPB and the athletes there that I have become a better all around athlete, both mentally and physically.

When I heard that there was going to be a Paleo Challenge I had to give it a try. I had always heard good things about the paleo diet but I just never had the motivation to try it on my own. This was much more than a challenge to me, it was a lifestyle change.

Since starting the paleo way of living I have had much more energy in my workouts and throughout the day. Other than an increase in energy level and overall tightening and toning, I really noticed the improvement in my workouts. I have never been able to do a pull up and after 1 week of paleo I finally got my first strict pull-up and not to long after I was able to do kipping pull ups as well. This was a big achievement for me as it has always been one was of my bigger weaknesses.

My first couple of months doing CrossFit I had to scale most of the WODs and do lighter weights during strength work. Over the past 40 days I have been able to RX over 50% of the WODs and I have even done some WODs at RTG. I also was able to PR my deadlift at 200lb and my squat clean at 100lb. These are just some of the great accomplishments I have made during this challenge and I could not be happier with the results I have had thus far.

The people I have met at CrossFit Palm Beach and through the Superhuman challenge have been nothing but supportive and encouraging. It is such a great community to be a part of. Everyone is there to cheer you on and push you to reach your full potential.

It doesn’t matter what you can or cannot do, you never feel like you aren’t good enough or don’t belong. The coaches at CFPB take priority in helping all of their athletes to improve and get the most out of every workout.

Overall this challenge has taught me a healthy, maintainable and balanced way of living. It has showed me that with the right mindset you can accomplish whatever you set out too. I lost a total of 4 lbs and 6 inches and feel better than I have in a long time. I intend to continue this lifestyle from here on out. I have some goals I would love to hit before 2016 ends and I know they will be that much more achievable with this lifestyle.

I can’t thank all of the coaches, my husband, and all the other athletes enough in helping me to realize my full potential since I started CrossFit and even more so over the past 40 days. This is just the beginning and I am more determined than ever!
