We are sad to announce we are losing a team member, but excited to announce that Natalie is moving on to “bigger and better” things… like helping people live full and healthy lives post-heart surgery better. So we have some big shoes to fill on our desk team!
The front desk role is one of the most important roles at CrossFit Palm Beach. The front desk staff is usually the first person someone meets when they show up to CFPB for the first time. Many of the people that are walking into our gym for the first time are scared or intimidated to walk through our doors, and the front desk person is such an important part of that first impression, and making that person feel welcome.
We are looking for someone who is warm and friendly, and can make others feel comfortable from the second they walk in. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, and has a positive energy each day. We are looking for someone who is already passionate about CrossFit and/or BeachFit, and already loves the community of CrossFit Palm Beach. We are looking for someone who fits our core values, the same way we ask our coaches to uphold those same core values.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The primary roles of the Front Desk staff start with being immersed in our community and knowing everyone by name. You will be asked to enter and confirm reservations for every class, and will need to be comfortable talking to anybody and everybody. You will also be asked to do a lot of cleaning and organization, and shouldn’t be afraid to get your hands dirty. At times, you will be asked to sell memberships and collect payment information, so you should be okay with asking for money. While you won’t be asked to do a ton of technical stuff, you should be good enough with computers to learn and utilize our Zen Planner software, email, Excel, Slack, and other online applications. And you need to be an open source of communication with us and the rest of our team. Be willing to have uncomfortable conversations at times, and avoid gossip. The list below provides the responsibilities in a little more detail.
Entering and Confirming Reservations for Every Class
Learn and know all members by name. Introduce yourself to people you don’t know.
Confirm reservations for all classes
Record all non-attended reservations and/or track no shows
Troubleshoot any members that are ineligible for sign in
Add pictures to individuals profiles in ZenPlanner
Cleaning, Organization, Trash, and Recycling
Refilling Wipes, Paper Products, and Soap
Waivers and Liability
Refill retail fridges with drinks and snacks.
Help track and manage inventory
Collect and run payments
Walk-Ins and Drop-Ins
Greet them with a smile and make them feel welcome. Introduce them to any members or coaches that are nearby.
Collect contact and payment information
Work Cell Phone and Email
Check and return any missed calls or voicemails since the previous shift.
Answer incoming calls and emails
Communicate with Coaches, Front Desk Manager, and fellow Front Desk Staff
Utilize the notebook to record any relevant information from that day.
Post daily to online app Slack
Zen Planner, Excel, Word
Enter new memberships and make membership changes.
Create sign up sheets for seminars and events
Hours and Compensation:
Shifts: We are primarily looking to fill the shifts below but a perfect team mate would be able to fill in other weekly or weekend desk shifts if fellow staff members take vacation/time off.
7:00 AM – 12:00 PM Desk (5 hours)
12:00-1:00 PM Cleaning (1 hour)
3:45 PM – 8:15 PM (4.5 hours)
1:30-3:30 Cleaning (2 hours)
3:45 PM – 7:15 PM (3.5 hours)
Benefits & Pay: $12-15/hour (with potential increases down the road as hours, responsibilities, and experience increase)
