– Tell us about yourself –

I’m 24. I work in marketing and website development.

When did you start BeachFit?  Why did you decide to join CrossFit Palm Beach at that time?  What do you remember most about when you first started?

I started around the end of October. My step mom had been going to the gym for the past 5 years, and I got to see how big of an impact it made on her life. So when I moved to Jupiter I figured I would give it a go.

What new beliefs, behaviors or habits have you adopted since joining us that are positively impacting your life?

One thing I’ve changed is what I’m eating. I don’t follow any sort of strict diet, or count my macros. But I am a lot more conscientious about what I’m putting into my body. I can feel the difference during the workouts, so I fuel my body with more intent now.

What has been your most memorable workout?

Any and every partner workout is my favorite! I love the camaraderie and encouragement that goes into it. Plus it’s super fun.

Have you had any setbacks since starting CrossFit, what have you done to overcome them?

I tore my ACL my freshman year of high school. I continued playing sports after the surgery, but it’s something I’ve always been cautious with. Sometimes overly so. It turned out to be more of a mental setback for me and I was convincing myself I couldn’t do things that I could. Once I stopped using my knee as a crutch I was able to do everything I was so hesitant with in the first place.

What do you do on days when you don’t “feel” like going to the gym, what keeps you motivated?

When I don’t “feel” like going to the gym, I make sure I go. Those are normally the days I need it the most. The whole “best hour of your day” saying really comes into play there. I’ve gotten in to the habit of going practically everyday and that habit alone is sometimes all that gets me there. Going to the gym is something I planed on doing before I’ve even woken up for my day and I don’t let outside factors affect that.

What do you love most about CrossFit Palm Beach?

The community. As overstated as it is, it’s true. Everyone is so supportive and I’ve made some lifelong friends here.
